Why does Bone & Marrow contain magnesium stearate?Updated 9 months ago

Unlike with our other beef organ supplements, we have to use a flow agent in Bone & Marrow due to the "stickiness" of the raw ingredients. Without a flow agent, the powder can't be encapsulated using machinery (we tried).

Unfortunately, there is no animal-based flow agent on the market, and we had to choose between rice flour, silica, and magnesium stearate.

We ruled out rice because of its antinutrients, and silica because it's a synthetic product made in a lab. Magnesium stearate is derived from plants, and while not ideal, we consider it the least problematic choice.

Despite what you may have heard, magnesium stearate is not banned in the European Union, and scientific evidence suggests it's not harmful to humans.
