Why does Collagen & Colostrum Clump or Foam When Mixed?Updated a month ago

At MK Supplements, we’re committed to keeping our products as clean and natural as possible. That means we don’t use any synthetic ingredients like anti-foaming agents, emulsifiers, or fillers commonly found in other supplements. While this ensures you’re getting the purest, most nutrient-dense product, it also means some natural foaming and occasional clumping can occur when you mix our powders.

Why Does This Happen?

Foaming happens when air gets trapped during mixing, especially with protein-rich powders. Without synthetic additives to suppress this natural reaction, a bit of foam is normal and doesn’t affect the quality or effectiveness of your supplement.

How to Reduce Foaming:

If you prefer a smoother mix, here are some simple tips to minimize foam:

  1. Stir Instead of Shake: Gently stir with a spoon or use a whisk instead of shaking vigorously.
  2. Add Liquid First: Pour your water or preferred liquid into the cup before adding the powder to reduce clumping and foam.
  3. Use Room Temperature Water: Cold water tends to create more foam. Try mixing with room temperature water, then add ice if desired.
  4. Let It Sit: After mixing, allow your drink to rest for 1-2 minutes. The foam will settle naturally.
  5. Mix Slowly: If using a blender, blend on the lowest setting or use short pulses.
  6. Add a Fat Source: A small splash of cream or MCT oil can help reduce foam due to its natural surface tension-reducing properties.
  7. Dilute the Mixture: Using more liquid can help reduce foam concentration.

We believe in transparency and simplicity, which is why you’ll never find unnecessary additives in our products. While a little foam might be part of the experience, it’s a small trade-off for the purity and quality you’re getting in every serving.
